By downloading, storing or using any material from this site you, the user, are accepting ALL the following terms & conditions:-

  1. Use of the images or material on this site is limited to non-commercial, non-lucrative personal use only. No copyright licence is granted to the user other than the right to reproduce the images without alteration (except as limited in Point _ below) for non-commercial, non-lucrative personal use only.

  2. The Malta Tourism Authority (“MTA”) and its licensors, including the creator of the image, own all copyright and other intellectual property rights over the images and material contained on this site.

  3. You, as user of any images contained on this site, accept any and all liability arising from such use, and agree to indemnify the MTA and its licensors for any claim, inclusive of costs, expenses and damages, arising out of or related to your use of the said images (whether alone or on conjunction with any other material) or any breach of these terms and conditions.

  4. You may download and store only the images you plan to use as materials for the creation of a project, website or publication. You may not archive images other than those used in such a project, website or publication (i.e. downloading or archiving the entire collection or substantial part of it is prohibited).

  5. The images on this site are provided to the user as is. You must not redistribute the images in any way designed for reuse. You must not offer for sale or sub-license these images (or a collection of) without our express permission.

  6. The images on this site may only be used for the purpose of promoting Malta as a visitor destination.

  7. A link (or textural credit in non-web applications) to this site is required where an image is used. Acceptable credits include 'image: www.viewingmalta.com' or a hyperlink to the URL 'http://www.viewingmalta.com'. The credit shall be located in a suitably readable font on the same page as the image, and shall state the name of the copyright holder and the MTA.

  8. When images are used in printed material or non internet-connected electronic media, a credit is needed on each page (or a facing page) where an image is used. The credit can either be at the bottom of the page or near the image i.e. in a caption. Many designers find the credit is less intrusive when it is printed sideways or at the edge of the page near the gutter.

  9. Images may also be used in other forms of digital and video media (games, demos, presentations, interactive systems, films etc.) a credit is required either where the image is used, or at the start of the presentation/film or on a 'welcome screen'.

  10. Where images are used in online banners the credit link may be included on the page where the user who clicks the banner is taken to. This page will be the final destination page of the banner link and not any auto-forwarded or unseen page which the browser may passes through while displaying the final banner destination page.

    Please contact us if you would like to use the images without a credit.

  11. The Malta Tourism Authority reserves the right to change these conditions at any time without notice. Changes will be published here, and it shall be the user’s responsibility to take note of any such changes.

  12. You are free to edit or modify the images in anyway you want, however, you may not crop more than 10% (ten per cent) of the total image content. Furthermore, in the case of use of images featuring (a) trade names, trademarks, or service marks owned by a third party, or (b) a likeness of, or reference to an individual, you are responsible to ensure that these are used in accordance with trademark and copyright law, and relevant Data Protection & Privacy laws, where these are applicable.

  13. Some of the images featured on this site contain trademarks, designs and logos from other entities to which the Malta Tourism Authority is in no way connected. All trademarks, designs and logos remain the property of their respective owners and users wishing to use these images should seek permission from the relevant trademark holder before use.

  14. You warrant that you shall not at any time take any step or make any omission that brings the reputation or good standing of the author of the image, the MTA, or Malta and its people into disrepute.
